What are the advantages and disadvantages of double-glazed solar modules?

Durability of double glazed solar panels
We often see boxes of goods labeled "Glass, Handle with Care". It is a common belief that glassware is fragile. This is actually not true; containers made from glass can be fragile in shape, but glass in sheet form can be very strong. The glass protector on the front of our cell phones is a sheet less than a millimeter thick, but it lasts well. The sheets of glass used on good quality solar panels are suitable to withstand hailstones up to an inch in size. These hailstones can easily dent certain parts of the car, but the glass holds up well. The breakable points of glass are mainly around the edges and corners, as in the case of a dropped cell phone, where the protective glass film on the surface is cracked from the corners all around.
Special Applications - Transparent Roofing Materials
Because they are transparent, double-glazed solar panels can be used as a roofing material where partial light transmission is required, e.g., on balconies, carports, etc.
Longer life - better guarantee
Due to much slower performance degradation than standard solar panels, double-glazed solar panels have a much longer average lifespan.
