Germany installs 919 MW of solar in September
According to the latest data from the Federal Network Agency, Germany installed 919 MW of new PV capacity
in September, compared to 1,056 MW in August and 750 MW in September 2022.The new PV capacity was
installed in the first nine months of the year, compared to 5.6 GW in the same period last year.
In the first nine months of this year, developers connected 10.72 GW of solar energy to the grid, compared to
just 5.6 GW in the same period last year.
This means that the German government's target of 9 GW of new installed capacity this year has been exceeded.
In order to achieve the goal of a cumulative installed capacity of 215 GW by 2030, the Federal Network Agency has
decided that new installed capacity (on a linear basis) must reach 1,578 MW per month. No month has reached this
value so far this year.
The country's cumulative installed solar capacity exceeded 77.67 GW by the end of September.
In September, the total capacity of rooftop systems supported by feed-in tariffs or market premiums was 666 MW.
This is also the lowest since February, and a significant drop from previous months, when the segment installed more
than 800 MW in each of them, and peaked at almost 937 MW in June.
