I. What is PV
In 1839, Becquerel in France discovered for the first time that under light conditions, certain solid systems have a voltage at both ends and when the two ends are connected with a wire, there is a current output, this is the photovoltaics (PV) effect
In 1954, Bell Labs Chapin et al. developed a single product silicon solar electric ground with an efficiency of 6 % and the modern silicon solar electric time has since begun.
Solar photovoltaics are realised by using solar electric panels made from semiconductors such as silicon to generate direct current electricity from light. Since 1958, the solar photovoltaic effect has been used for the first time in the form of solar electricity in the field of power supply for space satellites. II. Types of photovoltaic
1、Monocrystalline photovoltaic products
The main methods for growing single crystals of silicon are the straight pulling method (cz method) and the flame-zone method (fz method), and single crystal products are widely used in our lives in:
1. semiconductor devices - from our computers and mobile phones to our electric toys, the core control parts of which are chips made of single crystal silicon products;
2. Photovoltaic - the initial development of photovoltaic products are mainly monocrystalline photovoltaic, with good stability and power generation efficiency

2、Polycrystalline photovoltaic products
Polycrystalline photovoltaic products - through the directional solidification method (dss method) to produce polysilicon ingots, then sliced into wafers, and then made into cells through the cell process, and then encapsulated into the final module.
The current production of polysilicon ingots in the industry is 600KG, 800KG and 1200KG per furnace.
◆Advantages: high output and low cost.
Disadvantages: conversion efficiency is slightly lower than that of monocrystalline silicon PV products
3、Film solar products
◆ thin film solar photovoltaic products - thin film solar cells are divided into two categories according to the substrate: hard substrate and flexible substrate, by making a very thin (um scale) film on the substrate, the use of thin film layer for power generation products.
Compared to mono-polycrystalline PV products:
Advantages - light weight, foldable and not easily broken.
Disadvantages - a lower conversion efficiency at present.

IV. Application of photovoltaic power
1、Military
